When something looks wrong

Start from the symptom, such as no score, a site that never moves, an empty Deploy view or no Search Console data, and work back to the step that was skipped.

Almost everything on this page has the same shape: a step in the chain was skipped, and the view downstream of it is correctly reporting that it has nothing. Each entry names the symptom, what it means, and where to look first. How it works has the chain itself.

The dashboard shows no score

The score comes from the last crawl. Before a site has been crawled there is no score, only a count of discovered URLs, and the dashboard says so rather than showing a zero.

Look at URLs first. If the crawled count is zero, either no crawl has run or the crawl had nothing to fetch, which is the next entry. If pages have been crawled and there is still no score, the crawl may still be running; the score appears when it finishes.

The site has sat for weeks and nothing happens

On a site over 5,000 URLs the automatic crawl never starts, by design. The site is crawled category by category, and until something is mapped there is nothing to crawl. A large site with nothing mapped stays uncrawled until a category is created.

Open URLs and map categories. The suggested patterns come from URL paths, so they work before the first crawl. Crawling and categories explains the threshold and why it exists.

The crawl ran but read zero pages

Same cause as above, seen from the other end: on a large site a crawl fetches the pages that are mapped to a category, and a crawl with nothing mapped fetches nothing. The job completes, correctly, having done no work.

Map something, then crawl again.

The discovered count keeps growing but crawled does not

Discover more adds newly found URLs as discovered. Your existing pattern rules are applied to them right away; anything no rule catches stays unmapped, and on a large site nothing fetches an unmapped page. The counts move while the crawl does not, and that is the feature working.

Assign the new URLs, or add a pattern that catches them, and the next crawl picks them up.

The score did not move after I published

Publishing changes what your site serves; it does not change what we measured. Every point on the score line is a crawl, so the score moves when the next crawl reads the page, not when you edit it.

Publish, crawl, then read the score. The work log on the dashboard records the change and what the next crawl made of it.

The trend badge went quiet

If we change how scoring works, whether a check's verdict, a weight or what counts in a denominator, the comparison with the previous snapshot is withheld for one cycle rather than subtracting two numbers measured with different rulers. The badge returns on the next crawl. How scoring works has the details.

The Deploy view is empty

Two causes, two fixes.

Nothing is published. Generated content is a draft. Nothing reaches your live site, and nothing appears in Deploy, until you publish it.

Published, but no integration has asked. Something on your site has to request the SEO before there is anything to report. Check Integrate: is the plugin installed, is the key current, has the verify step passed? Integrations walks the chain backwards.

Every row says Idle

Idle means no traffic inside the selected window. It is a statement about visitors, not about delivery. A page nobody requested cannot report being served, and an idle page is not a failing one.

Widen the window first. On a site with modest traffic a narrow window shows almost every page as idle while everything works. Only an Error row is unambiguously a problem. Publishing and serving covers the three statuses.

Rows say Error

Your integration asked for the URL's SEO and reported a failure. The row carries the type and message it returned; start there.

One cause is a regenerated API key. Regenerating stops every existing installation for the site until each one has the new key, and it does so silently. If several installs share the site, update them all.

A page on my WordPress site still shows the old title

Work backwards: is the page published, is the URL in your URL list, is the key set and current, and has five minutes passed since publishing? The plugin keeps a short local cache as a safety net, and a missed purge expires on its own within that time. The WordPress plugin has the full checklist.

Integrate says Detected but nothing is served

Detected means the last crawl recognised the platform your site runs on, or an integration has reported in at some point. Neither is a claim that the connection currently works. Treat it as a suggestion about which guide to open, and the verify step as the answer.

Performance shows no data

Everything on that page is Search Console data, and it arrives only once a property is mapped to this site. A connected account with an unmapped property feeds nothing, and the view stays empty even though the connection is fine.

Go to Settings → Integrations, sync properties, and map one. A fresh mapping fills in over the next day rather than at once, and the window always ends three days ago because Google's own numbers lag that far. Search performance explains the lag and the thresholds behind the two opportunity lists.

Both read the page body: headings, text and internal links. A crawl stores it, but pages crawled before the body was read are marked Meta only and have none, so a site full of them gives both views nothing to work with.

Re-crawl from URLs, then re-run the analysis.

The link analysis reads the last crawl. That notice means the numbers describe an earlier state of the site: nothing has been crawled since the analysis last ran. Re-crawl before acting on them.

The counter and the preview disagree

The counter under a field measures the template on every page in the category and shows the shortest and longest result. The preview shows one page. A title that is 48 characters on the page you are looking at can still be 71 on another, and the counter is telling you about that one.

None of these

The help panel inside the app, behind the question mark in the header, explains the view you are standing on, and the search in it covers every topic. If the answer is not there, contact us and say which site and which view.
